Hi Team,First off, thank you to all the families who attended tryouts this spring. This can be an exciting and sometimes challenging time for the boys, depending on how things work out. Please know that building a team and recognizing the efforts of our athletes is something we take very seriously. We truly appreciate everything that goes into the process and want to thank all the families who participated.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
I’m honoured and excited to be coaching the team this season. I’ve been
coaching for nearly 30 years across various sports, and over the past few
years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching hockey with the Ilderton Jets.
Coaching is a passion of mine. I believe that success comes
through hard work, practice, teamwork, and dedication. More than anything, I
value effort and attitude—these are the qualities that will drive our team’s
growth and success.
We’re looking forward to a season filled with development,
sportsmanship, and of course, some great competitive hockey. Our primary goal
is not just to build skills on the ice—like skating, stickhandling, and game
sense, but also to foster a love for the game and teach important life lessons:
teamwork, discipline, respect, and perseverance. These are values that last far
beyond the rink.
As parents, your role is incredibly important. Your
encouragement from the stands, your commitment to getting players to practices
and games, and your positive reinforcement all make a huge difference. This is
a partnership and we, the coaches, will focus on skill development and growth
on the ice, and we ask for your support in creating a positive, encouraging
environment for all our players.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more information about
the season schedule, team expectations, communication channels, and some
exciting upcoming events. We encourage
you to ask questions, get involved where you can, and become active members of
our hockey community.
I'm also pleased to announce that we have three additional
volunteers joining our coaching staff:
Mike Tuckwood – Assistant Coach
Luke Holst – Assistant Coach
Kevin Vilaca – Trainer
A big thank you to them for stepping up and committing their
time and energy to the team! We are also looking for a Team Manager. If you
have experience in this role or are interested in helping please let me know.
It’s a vital position that helps the season run smoothly. Please reach out to me through my information
below.
