Welcome To Tryouts!!!
Welcome Everyone!

I would like to welcome you to become part of the inaugural season for the Ausable Valley Coyotes! We are all very excited for the merger and the talent pool for this group of U13 Players. This season is bringing several first for us with the new organization and the open boarders.

I am anticipating a large turnout to the tryout and am excited to be steering the ship for it. I will have several highly talented coaches and players helping out with the tryout process to ensure that we do the absolute best possible job selecting players throughout the tryout process. These individuals range from Ex-Pro Hockey Players, Junior Hockey Coaches and U22 Elite Team Coaches. I am a firm believer in selecting the best candidates for the team regardless of where you played in the previous season. Good Luck to Everyone and I can’t wait to see you at the rink! Please follow the team calendar for all skates and times.

A little Playing/Coaching Bio: Matthew Thompson 5196170763

I grew up just outside of Lucan along the Ausable River playing my minor and junior hockey for the Lucan Irish. I was lucky enough to win two All Ontario Championships as a player, one in U15 and one in Junior. This is where I learned what it takes to create a championship caliber team. I continue to love and play the game and hope to for many more years to come.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

A coaching philosophy focused on player development and team success should emphasize the following key points:

Individual Growth: Prioritize the development of each player as individuals, focusing on their skills, confidence, and character both on and off the ice.

Holistic Approach: Understand that success is not just measured by wins and losses, but by the personal growth and improvement of each player.

Communication: Foster open communication with players, providing constructive feedback, and actively listening to their concerns and ideas.

Goal Setting: Set clear, achievable goals for both individual players and the team as a whole, and work together to strive towards them.

Team Unity: Emphasize the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect among players, coaches, and staff.

Adaptability:
Be flexible and willing to adjust strategies and tactics based on the strengths and weaknesses of the team and individual players.

Positive Environment: Create a positive and supportive team culture where players feel valued, motivated, and empowered to succeed.

Accountability: Hold players accountable for their actions and performance, while also providing support and guidance to help them learn and grow from mistakes.

Continuous Learning: Encourage a mindset of continuous learning and improvement, both for players and coaches, through practices, games, and other learning opportunities.

Enjoyment: Ensure that players enjoy the game and have fun while striving for success, as enjoyment and passion are essential for long-term development and commitment.

By integrating these principles into your coaching philosophy, you can create a supportive and empowering environment that fosters player development and ultimately leads to team success.
